Machine Repair
Quotes:
We can ballpark a quote without seeing the machine however for an accurate quote we charge for the labor required to determine the problems. This charge is waived should the quote be accepted. Any additional charges that might arise as the machine is tested / calibrated are disclosed prior to proceeding with the work.
Calibration:
The wetting balance requires yearly calibration. The solderability is determined by the contact angle θ. This angle is determined from the wetting force F = g .cosq .c – g.p.v where
g = surface tension of Flux / Molten solder
q =
p = solder density ( 8 mg/mm3 )
v = specimen immersed volume ( mm3 )
Therefore, unless the load cell measuring the Force is correctly calibrated the contact angle will not be correct.
We issue a calibration certificate good for one year.
Repair:
In general parts requiring replacement are replaced with the same factory part. Older machines may require modification if the part is no longer available. Up-grades are offered at the time of the quote. We recommend that the machine be recalibrated after undergoing any major repair.
Travel expenses to your location to repair or calibrate a machine are charged however the machine can be sent to our head office. You can ship it to us and arrange for collection when the work is completed or we can send a shipping case to you, which is eventually returned empty to us, upon receipt of the repaired/recalibrated machine at your location.
Consumables and Spare Parts:
Solder Pots, Tools holders, Solder Alloy and J Standard Fluxes are available upon request. Please contact us for a list of avaiable consumables.
Consumables and spare parts are shipped UPS ground unless otherwise requested.
